Day 19 - Sevilla - MAJOR MILESTONE..729miles (1173km) cycled in 16 days

The hardest place ever to photograph. The worlds largest church by floor area!..The scale is so vast it does´nt actually appear that big, but to try and capture an image that does it justice is impossible. Built during 100 years it was consturcted on top of a mosque when the Christians claimed back Seville in the 1400´s. The only part left was the mineret and gardens. Also built in high Gothic, renders the interiors very dark. Its also left very bare, and not at all pretty, but its what is inside....
Handcarved wood organ and choir seating

This is the true gem. This was one mans lifetime work, and again its so hard to concieve the scale and detail. The reason for the colou, apart from my 90 quid camara, and dark interior, is becasue the whole thing is clad in gold leaf, so the color isn´t far off

Incrediable gothic vaulted cieling

Amazing detail

Its the most extravagent alter piece in the world, and it depict 22 scense from the bible, hand carved from wood. Just to ititerate..One mans life time work!

I took this pone just to try and capture a sence of scale...you can see the seats...its amazing
One of the ´sdie´chaples!!...thats how big it is. This is a side chapel
 Agaian. the side chapels ceiling

Trying to capture ther vaulted cieling. 45 m tall

The church floor plan superimposed over the mosque´s to show what was kept and what was demolished
View from the minaret of the Seville bull ring. Second in importtance to that of Madrid
The rarely seen top´s of the Gothis cielings. They create interesting curved forms

Very much like a morrocan town in plan..Chaos! I was so disorientated!..

Horse and Kart. The Gypsy element that has contributed to Seville..Flemingo music, and horse and cart...ha..and load sof other thigns i cant remember

The entracne to the Alcazar!!...Built by the moors during the 1200 and 1300. The detail is outstanding
