The fortified walls of Madrigal. I think I managed to gather that Madris actually took its name from this place, although not sure...if anyone wants to find out id be very interested
Along the flat plains going into Salamanca..although for some reason today they looked really inviting and interesting..amazing what the weather can do hey...
...and finally, my first mention of Salamanca..I´m so excited to be getting there, as I will take a 2 day rest
flat plains....I do like arid desert environments..
The long road ahead, and a great, vivd sky....This day would encounter a series of endless straight roads!...got to keep going. Oh and at this point I had 2 rear spokes snap, so I am limping the bike to Salamanca, with the rear wheel wobbling side to side, hoping she would give in before...about 25km to the city
Oh so important beer break. Mahou is the favoured beer of the region. Made in Madrid, but there is a place called mahou on one of the islands...not sure, but tastes great...dont worry I was´nt drink cycling..
Corn fields..getting closer now...10km out
..Ahhh...SALAMANCA!!!...So happy to be here. I checked in and went for walks last night. This is the main square and one of the greatest in Spain. This place is the most beutiful town I have ever seen!!...
Designed by Andrea Garcia Quinones and Alberto Churriguera. Nowhere is the Churriguera inspired variation of Baroque so refined as here...
...and here
some random crazy bar, neon lit and spirit bottles as high as the bar
