Day 19 Amazing Sevilla.

okay have just dumped a whoole load of pics to clear out my digital camara

I ended up going back to the Alcazar twice for 2 reasons. One my camara battery ran out and I just could´nt imagine leaving Sevilla without any of these, and of course the other reason was it deserved 2 viewings. Although the suprise was less on return, the place still blows my mind. This cieling is the highlight due to the intensity of the color, but also the complexity. I´d love to deceipher it and analyse the pattern. I tried to capture it in as high a detail as possible just to try and understand it

This Image is a detail of one of the walls from the same room. Even from about 50cm from the surface, some detail is lost in the photo.

you can see 2 styles fuse here as shown by the styles of the arches. The islamic style at the bottom, and the semi circular Romanesque at the top.
A simple door arch...
Also the tiled sourrounds have a different pattern on each face of each room.

..ah..here you can see the two arch styles more clearly. This is the central courtyard
This is a wood relief cieling

The doorway leading out to the gardens which are equally as complex, and grand!..

The tilling continues on every surface, be it steps, seating, walls,

Trying to get the palm tree money shot, but could´nt get the sun hid
Every fountain depicts a Roman god
..even the blimin Peacocks are just as grand!...I like the water draining down the centre of the steps. I would kill to have a morrocan style garden!...
Detail of one the window alcolves
This is a detail of another cieling. This is Isabel of Spains bedroom. Again, no expense spared. It only begins to become logical when you zoom right in

lovely floor
This is one side bedroom. The arch seperate the sleeping to the communal quaters. The cieling above is that the the right
